Just a 45-minute drive from the vibrant chaos of Marrakech lies the serene and breathtaking Ourika Valley. Nestled at the foothills of the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, this full-day excursion is the perfect nature escape for families, couples, and solo adventurers alike.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive winding through lush green valleys, ancient olive groves, and terraced apple orchards. Along the way, we will stop at an authentic Berber village to experience the legendary hospitality of the mountain people, sharing traditional mint tea in a local home.
Upon reaching the village of Setti Fatma, you will meet your specialized local mountain guide. Together, you will embark on an invigorating hike over rocky trails and rustic wooden bridges to discover a series of stunning hidden waterfalls. After working up an appetite, reward yourself with a slow-cooked Tagine at one of the vibrant riverside cafes, where the tables are set right at the water’s edge.
For Hotels/Resorts (Gueliz, Hivernage, Palmeraie): Please wait in your hotel lobby 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Your driver will come inside to find you.
For Medina Riads: Because vehicles cannot enter the old city, we will provide a Google Maps pin to the closest accessible parking gate (e.g., Cafe de France, Bab Boujeloud) via WhatsApp the evening before your tour.
Footwear is Crucial: The hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls involves walking over uneven rocks, crossing small streams, and climbing rustic stairs. Sneakers or sturdy hiking shoes are strictly required. Flip-flops or sandals are not safe for this activity.
Accessibility: Due to the uneven terrain of the mountain hike, this tour is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for travelers with serious mobility issues.
What to Bring: Sunscreen, a hat, a camera, and a light jacket (the mountains can be significantly cooler than Marrakech, especially in the morning or winter months). Cash (Dirhams) is required if you wish to purchase lunch or souvenirs, as mountain restaurants rarely accept credit cards.
